The most striking element of Adil’s career is that without any real previous TV or stage acting experience he found himself fronting a BBC1 sitcom. Adil’s big acting break came when he performed a number of comedy characters on the Paul Whitehouse and Charlie Higson BBC2 sketch show Bellamy’s People.

Here Adil appeared as Mr Khan, confused young British Pakistani MC Raa and the entrepreneurial Guru Dev Gattacharjya. Previously Adil had made some small acting appearances in radio drama.
