Want to star in Citizen Khan? Here is your chance

By 17th July 2015News

Hello,

So we will be filming series 4 of Citizen Khan in August till October and some exciting casting opportunities have come up for one episode roles. These details have been made available over the past few weeks via our casting director, the Spotlight website and the Casting Network. But I wanted to cast the net a little wider.

We’re offering up the chance to as many as possible, particularly as there are a few diverse roles too. At this stage we only have brief descriptions. If you are interested please send your CV, agent’s details and a showreel if possible to adil@adilray.com

Experience of some acting is important but if you genuinely think you can do this (a bit like I did!) then send us something. Be creative. Hey, if this doesn’t work out at least you have been seen!

Please do stipulate which roles you are interested in. We won’t be offering any feedback or replies unless we are calling you in or after more information.

Here are the details:

YOUNG MAN – MID – LATE TWENTIES, HANDSOME, ASIAN.

I am funny and charming and obviously cut out for this comedy lark. Seriously I reckon I could give acting a go as I act every day in the school I teach in and thats before the kids even come in. I am 40 now (the hair has gone) but I still look 25 – LOL!!! so I think I could play Stewart or the Tow Truck Driver. I live in London but my Brummie accent is still visible but not as strong as it could be. I can though put it on at the drop of a hat. I used to act all the time at school and college and have even tried improvised stand up. I could go but you probably want to get to the mosque for Eid as I know how as such a great community leader your presence will be greatly needed.

    See you later Mr Khan

  • Majid.hussain says:

  • Ashraf Hussain says:

Interested in playing Iqbal. I am 31 but look like I am in my early 20’s due to my height and skinny build.
I have been an extra in a medical video and am an aspiring method actor. Good with accents. This could be my chance. Commoooonity leader!

  • Mr Saf Saf says:

Would love to play a part, I’ve often been told I look like Shah ruk Khan!

  • Faim Aslam says:

I’m a 20 year old British Pakistani, I am currently a Drama student, I have always been fond of acting and have made a few short films. The role of Iqbal the goofy guy may be suitable for as it is the perfect age, gender, race and basically I believe I can pull this character off as I’m more into character acting.
    Thank you
    Faim

  • Bharat Ahuja says:

I’m 18 and I’m a fan of Citizen Khan. I would really love to be a part of it. I’m an Indian having a very typical American accent so please let me know if I could actually be a part of it. Thanks

  • Mohsin says:

Hi I think I would be the perfect candidate for the role of Iqbal or even Dr Shah I am a Asian male in my early 20’s. I would really love to hear back from you guys :).

  • Rajaul says:

    Hello Adil
    Eid Mubarak 🙂

I wouldn’t mind being casted for the above roles as I fit the profiles. I have worked on films and TV and know what to expect. Guess it’s time to get a big brake as my dark humour is being wasted.

  • Zita says:

If you ever need someone with a real pakistani death stare we have someone to recommend 😀

  • Kirit says:

    You should check out @amaradatia

  • Sarah Lavender says:

    Dear Mr. Ray,
I would like to be considered for casting in one of the above mentioned roles (possibly the TV Researcher/Producer…not sure I could pass as Yvonne though…could I!?). I am a LAMDA trained actress, with a whole host of bit parts under my belt….as it were (Blue Peter, Coca-Cola advert, The Bill, The Bill…again…and again (well everyone did that, right?) ..etc). I am a white female. My playing age range is 30 – 40 (possibly late twenties…at a push…and perhaps at a distance).
I shall forward my extensive CV to the above mentioned email address.
    Kind Regards,
    Sarah Lavender

  • Scott Cartwright says:

I’d love to be in this Adil! But from a look at the list- there’s no young male white roles in this! 🙁

I can send a showreel/acting resume! If anything crops up and you need a white young male- please let me know!

  • Hi Adil,
I have literally stumbled across this page after proving to someone that you were the guy that played Mr.Khan. I do believe in fate, and I had a brief encounter with acting, but could never make it on THE casting websites because of the type of training I had. You don’t know me and you have no reason to be impressed by me. I’m just a regular guy that tried his luck one day and had about 3 and a bit years of meeting some of the most amazing people I know. I would love to be considered to appear in your show in some shape or form, and I commend you for what you have achieved so far. I am self-employed and currently spend a lot of time on a blog and other forms of creativity surround that. This is the reason I have included the link for you to view. I also have a profile on star now that includes a CV and showreel would love it if you had a look. And if you fell like giving me a two fingered salute for popping by and invading your page please feel free…….lol.
